Svět nekonečné fantazie opět v Liberci!
The opera of the composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart The Magic Flute will be a really noticeable title of the second half of the year 2015. It was written to a libretto by a well-known theatre personality Emanuel Schikaneder, and its premiere was on 30th September 1791 in the Vienna's Theatre auf der Wieden, only three months before the composer's death. The work was conceived as a singspiel, a play with music, for folk classes, and that is why we meet there German language, which was rather unusual for an opera in those days. However, the composition has become one of the most frequent titles that appear in the repertoire of the world theatres, and during its life it stirred up a lot of polemics about the true meaning and message of the work itself. The story allows us to take a look into the abyss of different attitudes, different philosophies, to the questions and limits of power and freedom, in which we can also see the symbolism of the Freemason movement, which Mozart himself was a member of. Just thanks to its diversity and possibilities of interpretation, Magic Flute contains the potential to address differently thinking audience, the audience with inhomogenous consideration. The narration is framed by a pair in love, Tamino and Pamina, who have to succeed in finding their path to happiness, in contrast with a cute couple Papageno and Papagena. Another prominent figure, the Queen of the Night, offers phenomenal musical numbers thanks to which such stars as Lucia Popp or now world famous Natalie Dessay could show their perfect interpretation. Opera will be prepared in German with Czech subtitles.
