It has become a tradition that operetta and musical genre belong to one of the irreplaceable pillars of the program list of the opera ensemble of the F. X. Šalda Theatre in Liberec. At the beginning of 2016, this genre will be represented by a famous operetta Mam'zelle Nitouche, which brilliantly, with uncompromising amount of exaggeration, parody and top view, portrays hidden sides of three highly different settings. A monastery, theatre and barracks, in which the main characters, Célistin alias Floridor and a monastery ward Denise de Flavigny, move with the extraordinary talent to complicate an already chaotic situation. The operetta had its premiere in 1883 and it is considered to be the most successful opus of the composer Florimond Hervé. The "Miss Touch-Me-Not" travelled all over the world already after its premiere, and today it rightly belongs among the most often presented titles of its genre. In Liberec, Mam'zelle Nitouche was played previously in the last decade, when the famous staging by Petr Zahradníček from 1994 had its last performance in 2005, and even in the new Liberec production there will sound an elegantly charming translation by Oldřich Nový.
