"Italian comedy film editing ."
The second title of the year 2015, by which the Liberec opera ensemble will present itself to its spectators, will be a comic opera Don Pasquale. The composition was written to a libretto by Giovanni Ruffini, according to the literary artwork Ser Marcantonio by Angelo Anelli and its premiere was on the first 3rd January 1843 at Teatro Italiano in Paris. Gaetano Donizetti, an important representative of the "opera bel canto school" shows us in this composition his talent for a musical joke and talent for farce, which is gripped by a witty, intelligent way. A sense of humor, which can be decoded since the beginning of the composition, is built primarily on the magnificently constructed musical phrases where we stop asking a usual question whether music or a word is substantial. Also vocal parts are composed for the performing artists who are endowed by vocal virtuosity and comic acting abilities and who are represented in the world by such names such as Anna Netrebko and Juan Diego Flórez. In a "buffy story" there appear similar character types as in "commedia dell'arte", whether it is an old rich man Don Pasquale, his nephew Ernesto, their mutual friend Malatesto or a young widow Norina. Just thanks to her, the situations are put into motion, beginning to play even an unbelievable story, skates on sharpened sharp edges, smiling over their absurdity and poor old indolent Pasquale eventually loses due to the skills of his young nephew. The staging of the F. X. Šalda Theatre opera ensemble will be presented in Italian with Czech subtitles.
