RORY PAUL FERGUSON

RORY PAUL FERGUSON
Rory Ferguson was born in the Newcastle, Australia. In 1996 he began to study the National Dance School. He then continued at the Tanyi Person Classical Dance Academy. He was a finalist of the Youth America Grand Prix 2014. He worked with the Sydney City Youth Ballet. His repertoire includes the role of Prince of the ballet The Nutcracker, which he performed with Byron Ballet (2014). In 2015 he moved to Switzerland. He joined the Ballet School of Theatre in Basel, where he attended classical and contemporary dance lessons by Rafal Avnikjan and Amanda Bennet. Not even a twenty-year-old dancer made his first professional engagement with at the F. X. Šalda Theatre. Since then we have seen Rory in the production of Gazdino Rob (2015), in the role of Mercury in the ballet Romeo and Juliet (2016), in the horror dance Jekyll & Hyde (2016), in an excellent interpretation of White Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland (2016) ), in the title role of Pavel Malina in the Petroleum Lamp Ballet - pictures from Jilemnice (2017), in the stunning tap dancing show Just practice and traditional English dance Moriska in the dance production Obsession with Ballet II (2017), in the negative role of Agent Car-Boss in modern processing of the ballet Sleeping Beauty (2017), in the magical production Christmas Carol (2018), in the role of lover Boris in The Storm (2019) or in the title role of the stupid and ever hungry servant Truffaldino of Servant of Two Masters (2019). In the 2017 season he drew attention by his nomination for the Thalia Award for his role of frivolous Pavel Malina in the ballet Petrol Lamps - paintings from Jilemnice. He also gained to a wider nomination in the Ballet, Dance and Movement Theater category for the Thalia Award 2020 for the title role of Truffaldine in the jazz performance Servant of Two Masters. During less than six years he has worked as an excellent character dancer. The spectator appreciated his talent, convincing interpretation and naturalness of movement in Liberec Thalia twice (2018, 2019).
