ELENA NAGYOVÁ

She was born in the evangelic pastor family in Vsetín. Since she was six years old, she learned to play the piano and guitar in Folk Art school in Vsetín and Doksany. She also devoted to music later, when she decided to study piano at the State Conservatory in Brno, where she successfully completed her studies with a graduation concert and diploma thesis. She wanted to continue her studies in musical science at the Faculty of Arts of Comenius University in Bratislava, but due to her family background she could not join the profesor Eugen Sucoň’s class. In 1973 she applied for the announced competition of a ballet accompanist at the F. X. Šalda Theatre in Liberec, where she later gained a permanent engagement. At the same time she collaborated with an externed ensemble of actors for a very long time - she composed compositions for children’s performances or did musical dramaturgy for the choreographer and then head of the ballet František Pokorný. During her time in the theatre she received many offers to collaborate - as a teacher at basic art schools or accompanist for Vlastimil Harapes. She rejected all the offers and remained loyal to the Liberec theatre to these days. She is engaged in tutoring, musical preparation of ballet titles and directs the ballet performance as a stage manager.
