DANGEROUS LIAISONS

After a rough dance theatre – Periphery, and a family show - Neverending Story, Liberec
ballet has decided to include a "snow-white" neo-classic to its repertory. The libretto is an adaptation of the novel in letters of the same name by Choderlos de Laclos from the end of the 18th century, which became primarily known thanks to several film adaptations. Among others by "our" director Miloš Forman ... This is a story of two decadent Libertarian nobles
- vicomte de Valmont and marquise de Merteuil - whose largest joy is playing with the emotions of other people. They boldly seduce, and subsequently reject innocent victims. Soon, though, they themselves get into dangerously close loops of their own games ...
Nonverbal adaptation of this slightly erotic story has many advantages. Dance, ballet,
gesture, along with the music - in this case consisting of music of the 18th century authors - are often able to express more than a word, which loses its meaning and purpose in certain situations... we will “creep” into the places where there is nothing to say...
